...and I live in GREYMOUTH on the West Coast of AOTEAROA/NewZealand.

Born in Taranaki in the North Island I spent most of my life teaching in schools across the lower part of that island but then decided to make The Coast home.

I became a bone carver in the 70s and it became a hobby I loved so when I retired and moved to 'The Coast' it was an 'itch I needed to scratch' - moving from bone to stone. So I did! I went back to school at Tai Poutini polytech in Greymouth and gained the Certificate and Diploma in Jade and Hard Stone Carving!

While nephrite jade is obviously the preferred stone for most- both carvers and wearers, the other 'hard stones' that we have available so readily offer a huge variety in beautiful colours, patterns and textures- serpentine, bowenite, argilite, and even obsidian and the lowly greywacke to name just a few.

Whatever stone I work I do so with the same passion and desire to make something beautiful that you will find suitable as a memento of time spent in a special somewhere, or gift for a special someone.
